A Canuck Calling

Hey Boys and Girls!

The countdown is in earnest to North Carolina. From this blog entry, I have 11 days until I go to the Piedmont.

I know I said earlier in the summer that I was going to hold off on Baseball Roadtrips for the summer, but there have been some significant changes in my life, and I have decided to go ahead and spend the money to travel and have some fun. So, that being said, the trip up to Canada is back on.

On August 11, I will board Amtrak and take the train all the way up to Vancouver, BC. I will see the Em's play the Canadians at Nat Bailey Stadium. The next day, I will sail by ferry to Victoria and see the new Golden League team. After spending the night in Victoria, I will sail to Seattle and hop on the train back here to Eugene.

There is one wrinkle to this trip that I am really excited about. I will be bringing my bike with me up to Canada. By doing this, I will be sure to make time for a ride in Vancouver's famous Stanley Park. But, however, it gives me a little bit more mobility in the two cities that I am going to. It should be a lot of fun to ride around in Canada.

A couple spur of the moment things: First, I will be going up to Portland this weekend to catch a game. Second, my family and I are looking at a trip down to the Bay Area at the end of August. Giants are playing and may even be in contention for the playoffs. I'll let all of you know what happens.

I'll update the blog after I get back from Portland on Sunday.

Always take on a 3-0 pitch ;)
