Snow Day!

It may have been a weekend, but I experienced my first snow day! Well, it didn't quite get the day off from school, but I did see how baseball is played amidst the white stuff.

I must say that the snow affects the game like no other. Today at PK Park, pitcher's were having an incredible time trying to stay warm and keep their hands dry.

There was a 15-minute snow delay to start the second game of the doubleheader. It was snowing so hard that it was like a white-out!

With this type of weather, it begs the question of whether or not baseball should be played so early in the year. This is a very difficult question to answer. Being the baseball purist, I am always a fan of playing baseball on a sunny afternoon when it is hot out and the sun is shining. These last few times out to PK Park, I've dressed in layers more appropriate for football season. It makes the game a little difficult to enjoy.

Hey, as long as the game doesn't change because of when it is, I'm fine with having baseball in February. There's still a pitcher, batter, fielder, and peanuts. The song is still played in the middle of the 7th, so matter what the weather is. Just think, we can all enjoy baseball from February to October!

Always take on a 3-0 pitch ;)
